Theaterproject “Wy jouwe gjin krimp!”

Graag willen wij u informeren over het theaterproject “Wy jouwe gjin krimp!” dat in het kader van Culturele Hoofdstad 2018 in Witmarsum wordt uitgevoerd.

Witmarsum2018
Onder de naam Witmarsum2018 sluiten we met ons dorp aan bij Culturele Hoofdstad 2018. Witmarsum is de eerste grote plaats die mensen tegenkomen bij het binnenrijden van de provincie vanaf de Afsluitdijk. Witmarsum willen we daarom presenteren in 2018 als hét dorp waar je niet omheen kunt.
Witmarsum2018 heeft tot doel de Mienskip te versterken op het gebied van kunst, cultuur, taal en sport. Wij vertalen dat als: we willen met het hele dorp mooie projecten neerzetten waar inwoners en bezoekers van kunnen genieten. En niet alleen in 2018, maar ook daarna. Verbinden en met elkaar samenwerken over hekjes en hokjes heen, dat is waar het in eerste instantie om gaat. In Witmarsum doen wij dit rondom drie historische dorpsfiguren: Menno Simons, Gysbert Japicx en Pim Mulier. Kortom: de drie iconen van Witmarsum.

Theaterproject “Wy jouwe gjin krimp!”
In eerste instantie was het de bedoeling om alleen een theatervoorstelling in het kader van Culturele Hoofdstad 2018 in Witmarsum op de planken te brengen.
Echter toen de schrijver van het theaterstuk, Wim Beckers, aan het schrijven en denken was, kwam hij uit om ‘krimp’ als rode draad te gebruiken.
Omdat krimp in veel plattelandsgebieden als een bedreiging (en vaak als een gegeven) wordt ervaren, is in dit project getracht deze bedreiging om te buigen tot een kans.
Maar als je dat doet kun je niet alleen volstaan met het op de planken brengen van een theaterstuk. Althans dat was de mening van de schrijver en bedacht zo dit project.
Het project gaat uit van de zelfwerkzaamheid van de inwoners zelf. Met andere woorden: als je niets doet zal er ook nooit wat veranderen. En wil je iets ten goede keren, dan zul je in actie moeten komen.
Om hier inhoud aan te geven is het project opgedeeld in drie onderdelen, te weten het theaterstuk, workshops en een lesprogramma op beide basisscholen.

Het theaterstuk
Het is de bedoeling dat 1, 2, 3, 7, 9 en 10 november 2018 in Witmarsum het theaterstuk op te voeren in het kader van de Culturele Hoofdstad 2018. Het stuk is gebaseerd op een actueel thema, namelijk de krimp, maar dan belicht vanuit een positieve invalshoek. Vandaar ook de titel “Wy jouwe gjin krimp!!”
Een stuk over passie, liefde en betrokkenheid bij ons mooie dorp Witmarsum. Een voorstelling met toneel, muziek en dans en dat allemaal uitgevoerd door de Mienskip van Witmarsum zelf, dus ook door kinderen. Uiteraard onder deskundige leiding.

Workshops:
Voorafgaande aan het theaterstuk willen wij als daadwerkelijk middel tegen de krimp, het één en ander in Witmarsum en omgeving neerzetten. Immers ook de krimp speelt in Witmarsum. Om die reden is er dan ook sprake van een theaterproject omdat het veel verder gaat dan alleen een eenmalige theatervoorstelling.

Wij trachten dit te bereiken door het organiseren van verschillende workshops, in het bijzonder gericht op jongeren. Wij proberen om mensen enthousiast te maken voor culturele activiteiten. Een enthousiasme wat zich ook na 2018 moet vertalen in een structurele deelname aan allerlei culturele activiteiten in Witmarsum en daarbuiten.
De workshops zullen in het najaar van 2017 plaatsvinden. Het gaat daarbij om de workshops: sing and swing, acteren (o.a. in soaps), dansen, decor en kleding ontwerpen en maken, en geluid en licht.

Lesprogramma basisscholen
Omdat wij ook graag basisschoolleerlingen van de groepen 6, 7 en 8 bij het project wilden betrekken, zijn er een tweetal lessen op de basisscholen verzorgd alsmede een workshop.
De gevolgde workshop die aangeboden werd was de workshop ‘Breakdance’, dit tot groot enthousiasme van de leerlingen.
Daarnaast werden er op 28 mei en 4 juni lessen verzorgd op de beide basisscholen. De gevolgde lesmethode was geënt op het lesprogramma ‘Jimp de krimp’.
Kinderen mochten tijdens de eerste les hun mobiele telefoon meenemen naar school.
In groepjes van vijf ging men het dorp in om foto’s te maken van plekken die je mooi vond, maar met name van plekken die je lelijk vond. Hiervoor had men een uur.
Teruggekomen op school moest men één foto uitzoeken van een plek die men lelijk vond. Voor de totale groep moest men vervolgens gaan uitleggen waarom men die foto van die lelijke plek had uitgekozen. Daarna ging men weer in het eigen groepje nadenken wat er dan zoal bij komt kijken om e.e.a. te veranderen.
De tweede dag was geheel ingeruimd voor het maken van werkstukken. De opdracht was om per groepje een maquette te maken hoe jij vond dat het beter en mooier zou worden. Hier werd met veel overtuiging, plezier en creativiteit aan gewerkt door de kinderen. Na afloop werden alle werkstukken gefotografeerd en, samen met de motivatie, gebundeld in een boekwerk, wat op 5 juli ten doop zal worden gehouden op het schoolplein te Witmarsum.
